HE PLACED 4th IN HIS WEIGHT CLASS, and it was OPEN, not novice.
⠀
It was surreal to watch him find his groove and, in real time, adapt and progress at a pace that was unexpected by all of us.
⠀
Don’t get me wrong, he’s incredibly athletic… it’s just that he’s only been wrestling for a short 6 weeks.
⠀
Proud is an understatement.
⠀
It’s not about the trophy or the medal,
⠀
It’s the commitment.
It’s the resiliency.
It’s that he did his best.
⠀
He was an incredible competitor.
He listened well.
He executed with blind trust.
He won well.
He lost well.
⠀
I couldn’t be more proud.
⠀
And to share the day with the people that mean the most….
⠀
To experience the support of those who see, know and love my son….
⠀
To take a step back and look in the bleachers and have the awareness to say, “God, this is my family, thank you. My son is loved so well.”
⠀
To coach my son, with his bonus-dad coaching next to me…
⠀
Im grateful.
⠀
You get one shot at this life.
⠀
It’s not about being perfect.
It IS about being present.
⠀
It’s not about having all the answers.
It IS about being open to possibilities.
⠀
And it’s all possible.
It’s all working for you.
⠀
Cheers.
